Camping
Note: Since I haven't have time to do any camping for many years, this page
is seriously outdated.
First let see some of my camping pictures:
When I was still a novice on this subject back in 1996, I needed to
prepare for a camping trip. I found quite a few very useful links:
Shop at your online store:
- Campmor - This
site give you a lot more choices but they don't have the nicey nice color
pictures. This site featuring Black Diamond, Camp Trails, Eureka, Sierra
Designs, The North Face, and the Walrus Tents. If you're looking for a
good tent and you can afford a little more, don't miss this site.
- L.L. Bean - I guess I don't have
to explain what kind of store it is. Since they like to sell their own
product, you can't really find a lot of choices from them about the camping
equipment.
Shop through an online magazine:
- Outside Online - the online
edition of the Outside Magazine. They not only have the current issue of
it, you can also search through their back
issues library and their 1996
Outside Buyer's Guide, too.
Shop at your local store:
- BigYellow - The yellow page
on the internet. Search your local store's address and phone number for
your camping equipment. I found mine this way.
Other information:
- Potomac Appalachian
Trail Club - Don't forget to visit this site. They have a lot of outdoor
event and information such as "What
you need to know to buy Tents".
- You don't know what to bring for your first camping trip? Check out
the Camping
Checklist.
- Internet Camping Directory - I
don't find this site very informative, but when you're desperate for camp
sites, it is one of the place you can look.
